Well hello and welcome to my very first blog post. I am hoping to post regular blogs about my current project successes (and disasters) along side lots of ramblings about this that and everything else.
For my first blog post I thought I would share my latest craft addiction… Crochet. A little background... I first tried crochet a couple of years ago, having a go at baby hair bands with flowers, and then progressing on to make a couple of cushion covers for home. Although I enjoyed it I decided that there was far too much counting involved and thought it might be something to come back to. Then at the end of November last year my son was very poorly in hospital, I needed something to distract me and pass the time. I found myself purchasing a crochet magazine with yarn and hook in the hospital shop. I couldn’t concentrate that much, but did get to practise the magic ring, which is used for so many amigurumi projects. Once my son started to recover my concentration improved and I had a go at some phone covers. I have since found some amazing patterns around and about. I have had a go at baby booties, cute mice (pattern by Lucy Ravenscar) which I have made into key rings, a tea cosy and a customer commissioned me to make a bag from pure wool, for a woollen anniversary gift. I am currently enjoying watching TV with crochet hook and yarn most evenings! Here are some pictures of my crochet achievement's….
